Having dropped a whole bunch of work related advisories earlier in the week, I figured it was time to drop something private. Not as interesting as abusing the stack by any stretch, but I found some entertaining flaws in JFFNMS which I am happy to share. I say share in the loosest sense, since I was waiting on the good folk at Debian to release their patches, but the upstream developer jumped the gun and release a nightly build which both resolved the issue and directly mentioned it in the change log. At this stage, I figure the issues are as good as public, so out go my advisory and a copy of the patch to the usual suspects. At least that way, I figure you net admins have some hope of keeping on top of the game. Anyway, as it happens I caught the DD just now and his patches are currently working their way through the Debian release system. Joy!
